Second baseman Charlie Gehringer smacked 2 homeruns at Sportsman's Park as the
potent Detroit Tigers staged a comeback win over the St. Louis Browns by the
count of 10 to 8.

Detroit came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
plating 3 runs using 3 hits. Jo-Jo White kicked off the action when he
banged out a single. After an out was recorded, Gehringer stepped in and he
drew a walk. Hank Greenberg then clubbed a three-run home run. One out
later, Dixie Walker came to bat and hit a single. Detroit had 14 hits for
the game and St. Louis had 10.

Tommy Bridges(6-5) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Oral
Hildebrand(2-6) absorbed the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 8 and 1/3
innings.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Gehringer said. 'If you
just keep trying good things can happen!'
