1938 AL Standings

July 1, 1938

The month of June is over and the Detroit Tigers continue to lead the AL. The Tigers have opened up a 7.5 game lead over the 2nd place Washington Senators, going a league best 21-9 in the month of June. My Tigers have over performed their RL(real life) record by 12 games. The Cleveland Indians are the only other team that has differed much from their RL record, and that is just by 8 games. Detroit is 4th in the AL in both team BA and team ERA, but are 1st in Runs Scored. Much if not most of the credit for Detroit's winning record can be attributed to Hank Greenberg. He has put up incredible numbers this season: .323BA, 39HR, 91RBI and a .815 slugging%. He's on a pace for 91HR and 212RBI!! Even if he slows down to his 'normal' pace or lower, I think my Tigers will have a good shot at winning the pennant.
