1938 AL Standings

My Detroit Tigers continue to play well above their actual record in 1938 and have a nice lead at the top of the AL. Barring a complete collapse, the Tigers should win the AL pennant. No team has been able to stop their offensive attack, which has allowed their mediocre pitching to put up W's. Their average score thru 122 games is 6.4 to 5.6. New York has floundered this season, while Boston and Cleveland have played somewhat close to their actual records. Those 3 teams did have better records than Detroit in August, allowing them to close the gap a little bit. Despite posting the best pitching stats in the league, the Yankees have faltered offensively, resulting in their poor record (for them).
