The red hot Chicago Cubs took both games of a doubleheader against the reeling 1st place New York Giants today and moved within striking distance as the 1938 NL season comes into its' final weeks. NY is 5-12 so far in September and Chicago is 11-4 while riding a 7 game winning streak. The losses also allowed Cincinnati and Pittsburgh to move even closer to the top spot. It looks to be a wild finish is in store this season.
