Monte Pearson(2-3) thrilled the fans at Shibe Park as he crafted a no-hit
masterpiece against the ice-cold Philadelphia Athletics. The New York
Yankees won by a final score of 10 to 0.

Pearson was just too much for Philadelphia. He walked 2 Philadelphia batters.
The New York players and coaches started to leave Pearson alone with his
thoughts after the game reached the 7th inning. By the time the 9th inning
rolled around, you could hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up -
and an explosion after every out. The pitchers took over after the 4th
inning as neither team was able to score again.

Bud Thomas(3-3) was charged with the loss. New York scored big getting 8 runs
off him in 2 innings. 'I gave it everything I had. It's probably the
greatest day of my life,' Pearson said. 'I was out there focusing on my
catcher's glove, that's all. I just concentrated on pitching my game.'
