1938 NL Game: Pit. at Bkn.

May 21, 1938

The Brooklyn Dodgers continued their winning ways by defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-1 today at Ebbets Field.
Pitcher Luke Hamlin won his league leading 7th game and lowered his league leading ERA to 1.54. Dolph Camilli chipped in with 2 homers and 4 RBI, upping his league leading RBI count to 32.

Camilli enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He clubbed a two-run home run in the
1st inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 8th inning.  Brooklyn had a
total of 11 hits for the game.  
 
The victory went to Hamlin(7-0) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Russ
Bauers(1-3) took the loss.  He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 3
walks.
 
The Brooklyn ballclub's record now stands at a league leading 19-12. With the
loss, Pittsburgh has a record of 5-5 lately, 15-12 overall.
