The 1938 AL season heads into June with the Detroit Tigers in 1st place. Detroit has a 3 game lead over New York while Cleveland and Washington are 4 back. Tiger 1st sacker Hank Greenberg and catcher/of Rudy York continue to put up impressive power numbers but Red Sox 1st baseman Jimmie Foxx is having the best start of anyone. Foxx's .441 BA leads the AL as does his 51 RBI. His 15 home runs are 2nd in the league to Greenberg's 20. Cleveland's flame thrower, Bob Feller, has a league leading 8-1 record and his 62 strikeouts are also tops in the league.
